Ian Foster (rugby union)

Ian Foster is the assistant coach of the All Blacks and a former rugby union player. He was the coach of the Waikato Chiefs from 2004 to 2011. During his playing career he made 148 appearances for Waikato, a union record. He also played 28 games for the Chiefs.〔(Ian Foster named All Blacks assistant coach ) ''Stuff.co.nz,'' 23 December 2011〕〔(Foster new All Black assistant coach ) ''NZ Herald,'' 23 December 2011〕 Foster is widely touted as the greatest New Zealand rugby player to never have played for the All Blacks.
Since 2012, he has been an assistant coach for the All Blacks.
